If You Suspect Identity Theft
- Contact the credit bureaus to place a credit freeze and fraud alert.
- Report to the Federal Trade Commission at www.identitytheft.gov or 1-877-438-4338.
- File a report with your local police department.
- Notify your financial institutions and creditors.
- If you receive Social Security, contact the Administration at 1-800-772-1213.
