READY TO GET STARTED?

To apply online or in-branch, you’ll need the following items:

• Personal information (Social security number, date of birth, employment, etc.)
• US Government Issued ID (Driver’s License, State ID, US Passport, Alien Registration Card, Military ID, or Temporary State of Hawaii Driver’s License/Permit)
• A Way to Fund Your Account (Either Checking or Savings Account and Associated Routing Number, or Credit/Debit Card Information).
• $5.00 to Open Your Account
• Physical Address

We don’t accept Limited Purpose Driver’s License. To help the U.S. Government fight terrorism and money laundering, Federal Law requires us to obtain, verify, and record information identifying each person opening an account. To validate the information you provided, we may ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

There are many ways to become a member of HOCU! Membership is open to anyone through the following options:

• Civilian Employees of the U.S. Government headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii
• Members of the U.S. Armed Forces including the U.S. Coast Guard who live in Hawaii
• Contractors and employees of contractors who regularly work at the Sand Island Coast Guard in Hawaii
• Family and household members of existing members
• Members of one of our Select Employer Groups
• Member of Hawaii Ballroom Dance or Waipahu Community Associations (see more below).
